Christmas Around Our Home | 2025

I recently learned (how did I just learn this?!) that the 12 Days of Christmas actually begin on Christmas Day and end with Epiphany on January 6. Which means the season doesn’t end on December 25—and what a gift that is for those who have spent the past few weeks making Christmas magic. An invitation to slow down, to rest, and to savor the final days of the year.

For many years, I hustled my way through December and then raced straight to January 1—boxing up every last bit of Christmas sparkle as quickly as possible in pursuit of that “fresh start” and “clean slate” we so often crave. But this year, I’m leaning into the quiet days between Christmas and New Year, intentionally slowing down and allowing Christmas to linger.

That looks like a few more Christmas movies and books, finishing my Advent Bible study, and leaving our Christmas décor up longer than usual. For the mom who spent the last month doing two things at once—wrapping gifts while watching a Christmas movie with the family, or baking cookies while mentally running through the Christmas Eve grocery list—getting to simply be is a gift.

Whether you’ve already packed away your decorations or you’re savoring them a little longer, I pray you find the rest your body and soul likely need in these final days of 2025.

And now, here’s a little peek at Christmas around our home this year. For the most part, our décor has remained the same for nearly a decade. I bought nearly nothing new this year with the exception of fresh red satin ribbon and a couple throw pillow covers to add to the collection. My goal has always been a classic Christmas—one I can return to year after year without needing to buy new again and again. Red ribbon, garland on nearly every surface, twinkly lights, and more recently, red Christmas plaid. It makes for the coziest spaces. Enjoy the Christmas Home Tour.

The Foyer

The Library

The Dining Room

Last year I added an set of Christmas salad plates that I plan to use forever and pass down to my children one day. They are incredibly beautiful and an investment for us. They pair beautifully with dollar store gold chargers I have had for at least a decade and elevated plastic plates from Amazon. (They are disposable but great quality so we have used and reused them several times since originally purchasing for a birthday event in November.)

The Living Room

Some of my favorite ways to decorate is by changing the photos in existing frames throughout the home. It’s inexpensive and such a fun surprise. I used several images from this vintage holiday art bundle and printed at home or Walgreens (the extra large poster seen above, framed above the piano.)

The Kitchen

The Bedrooms

We add small touches to each of the bedrooms and last year we added Christmas bedding which has made the bedrooms feel extra magical. The Santa hat rests on a picture of my son Aaden who lives in heaven. We honor him at Christmas in little ways throughout the home like his red stocking (the rest of ours are white) and a candle with his name on it we burn throughout the season.

Mini Christmas trees, Christmas candyland sheets and leftover birthday streamers. Perfectly imperfect.

Thank you for coming along this Christmas Home Tour. I pray it was a reminder that Christmas beauty doesn’t have to be new and it definitely doesn’t have to be rushed—it can be found in what we’ve loved for years and in the choosing to linger a little longer.
